Minimalist Christmas Decor | Small & Tiny Home Holidays
Living in a small space has made us
think more wisely about our purchases
Why we ever wasted money on cheap trash-able holidays items is now a foreign thought to me.

Why we ever wasted money on cheap trash-able holidays items is now a foreign thought to me.
Plastic tinsel and garlands, cheap ornaments that break, PVC coated lights that tangle, cutting a beautiful tree from the forest for a few weeks of pleasure, it just don't make sense any more.
We rarely purchase any holiday items. And we even gave up gift-giving for the holidays unless it's homemade, even our ornaments are made from scrap fabrics, lumber and food.
When we do purchase a holiday decoration it has to be something that will last for many years, something that we will treasure and something easy to store away.
The three holiday items that we have that

Our 84"metal ornament tree:
This tree was perfect for our needs, it's non-toxic, no plastic and will last for many years (and already has). It's unique so will never really go out of "style" and stores away neatly.
Our tree is adorned with ornaments from family and friends as well as
our own homemade ones which bring treasured memories.

Battery operated led copper fairy lights:
They are not coated in PVC plastic and store away compact & tidy.
These lights are compact, less toxic and can run on rechargeable batteries, they are perfect for a small space and can store away in a very tiny box.
And one item I wanted for quite some time was a big beautiful Christmas print, so when iCanvas gave me the opportunity to collaborate with them and select any print of my choosing, I immediately checked out their incredible holiday prints!
I chose the icanvas Christmas Eve Canvas Print by artist Nicky Boehme:
This print is bright, wintry, it's full of color yet very nostalgic.
A print is something we can cherish for many years, it's easy to store and it makes decorating a breeze for lazy decorators like me hehe...Hey I want to spend my time on holiday baking, not decorating :D
iCanvas has over 80,000 quality prints in every genre to choose from, and you can even have your own art or photography printed in their state-of-the-art facility in the USA. We are not an art factory. At iCanvas, our work isn’t just “produced” like some soulless trinket. We create. It is born of passion in the flames of our Morton Grove, IL facility, where quality, inspiration, and a bit of alchemy unite to give the world a beautiful piece of art and fill the gap between artist’s masterpiece and you.
If you are looking for a quality print on a solid wood frame that you can cherish for years to come,
Be sure to brew yourself a cup of organic tea and sit back and relax while browsing through their stunning online gallery of art and photography.
I recently read this article and it hit home with me. It's definitely a worthwhile read.
"Bake them a cake, write them a poem, give them a kiss, tell them a joke, but for god’s sake stop trashing the planet to tell someone you care. All it shows is that you don’t."
When you do buy items, make smart purchases, but things that will last, not end up in the trash. Buy things that make you happy, not because you feel you have to, because you don't.
You don't even have to be crafty to give a homemade gift, you can give your time, help someone out, clean their home, cook them a meal or even just a phone call. And if you're not in a place to do that, then don't. Just be happy and healthy and enjoy the holidays.
From Myself, Hubby and the wonderful team at iCanvas,
We truly wish you all a happy, healthy & relaxing
