Pure Anada Canadian Made Natural Cosmetics | Review & Swatches
I can't even wait for the rest of the post to say it - This is by far the best organic lipstick & gloss I have tried thus far and should be on everyone's must-have list if you wear make-up.
Pure Anada Cosmetics is made right here in Canada with the finest ingredients free from toxins and most allergens. Their Vitamin E is from rice and their products are also gluten-free. They are cruelty-free and most products are vegan.
The first thing I noticed was the elegant high quality packaging. Presented in a little black organza bag were four full sized lip products for me to try. They also included a color brochure with information on all of their products as well as tips and tricks for application.
There are several pages to the professionally designed color brochure outlining their complete range of natural mineral based cosmetics, but for this post I will stick with the lip products as this is what I had the wonderful opportunity of trying.
Thier lip colors come in a wide range of shades, something to suit everyone. 24 lipstick colors as well as 27 gloss shades can give you an unlimited pallet of colors when layering.
I have to say, I love pretty things and I was so excited when I saw the pretty packaging. I like that is has a boutique style "conventional" look.
The 4 products I tried were the Lipstick in Chocolate Kiss & Caramel and the Lip gloss in Sheer Opal & Sheer Bronze.

Lip gloss in Sheer Opal & Sheer Bronze
I almost overlooked this company as they do not boast their organic ingredients. Their ingredients are all natural and almost all of the ingredients in their lipstick & lip gloss that can be organic, are organic.
Lipstick ingredients: Ricinus Communis (Organic Castor Seed Oil), Simmondsia Chinensis (Organic, cold pressed Jojoba Seed Oil), Butyrospermum Parkii Fruit (Unrefined, Organic, Shea Butter), Limnanthes Alba (Organic Meadowfoam Seed Oil), Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla Wax), Copernicia Cerifera(Carnauba) Wax, Mica, Iron Oxides, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Citrus Tangerina (Organic Tangerine Essential Oil)
Lip gloss ingredients: Butyrospermum Parkii Fruit (Unrefined, Organic, Shea Butter, Ricinus Communis(Organic Castor Seed Oil), Simmondsia Chinensis (Organic, cold pressed, Jojoba Seed Oil),Limnanthes Alba (Organic Meadowfoam Seed Oil), Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla Wax), Mica, Iron Oxides, Citrus Tangerina (Organic Tangerine Essential Oil).
While there is nothing conventional about their completely natural ingredients, their products look, feel and are priced in line with your everyday drugstore products. Their lipsticks and glosses retail for about $12 Canadian. Now there is finally a reason to toss all of your toxic lipsticks and buy Canadian made pure safe products.
All four colors worked fabulous with my skin tone.
First I tried their lipstick in Chocolate Kiss:
It is a deep brown with light gold/copper shimmer. Such a beautiful rich color but not at all overpowering. I loved these all so much I decided to do actual lip photos. The Chocolate kiss had no trouble covering my lip freckles:
I applied this in one light coat. You can deepen the color with a second coat.
Next I tried the Caramel lipstick.
This is a light/medium caramel shade with a light gold shimmer. A wonderful summer color which also has good freckle coverage.
Showing with one light coat.

Their lipstick don't have any overpowering scent and they don't taste "lipsticky" or sweet. They are creamy yet dry enough to stay put without drying out your lips.
The Sheer Bronze lip gloss is another fantastic glossy summer color with flecks of bronze and gold and lots of gloss without the stickiness.
It glides on smooth, not sticky and adds a very natural shine with a touch of warm summer shimmer.
One swipe of the wand and it too covers freckles.
I was unsure of the Sheer Opal gloss as it appeared in the tube to be Barbie-doll pink with little red flecks:
But surprisingly it went on sheer and glossy with a hint (Just a hint) of shimmer. Not at all sparkley. More opal-y as the name suggests.
No freckle coverage but works great for layering.
Here is the Chocolate Kiss Lipstick with a topcoat of Sheer Opal:
Next colors on my must-have luxury list are the Sugarplum or Magic Mauve Lipstick and the Sheer Diamond or Morden's Blush Gloss.
Pure Anada do not make any claims of being organic although their lipsticks and glosses contain more organic ingredients than many companies claiming to be organic. The only thing I can say is that there are sources for organic carnauba wax (the only ingredient in the lipstick which can be organic and is not). Other than that there is nothing else critical that I can say about their lipstick & gloss.
Owner Candace Grenier takes pride in her creations and loves what she does;
"I started crafting cosmetics approximately 8 years ago out of a concern for putting healthier products IN and ON my body. I actually didn't intend to start a business at the time. It was simply a hobby for myself and a few friends with chemical sensitivities. Over the past few years, our company has grown substantially, and we are definitely having a lot of fun!
Our prices are reasonable, because we sell directly to consumers and retailers. We are also located in rural Manitoba, so our overhead is very small! It was very important to me that our products were affordable to "regular" people. I wanted my friends to be able to afford Pure Anada! "
Pure Anada can be purchased in retail stores & boutiques across Canada, and can also be purchased through several on-line stores. They also have retailers in the US & UK.
If their products are not in your area pass their information along to your favorite boutique or natural product store and ask them to carry their line.
If you would like to carry Pure Anada products, wish to recommend them to your local store or if you have any questions they can be reached through their website or their toll-free number: 1-866-569-2714
I love the way these feel...Fabulous!
Never put anything toxic on your lips. And remember, always source the best lip products you can find and always, always, always read the ingredients.
