We decided this year to remove most of our front lawn for a more productive organic veggie garden, I wanted to keep the street appeal while giving us more space to grow fruits and veggies.
Here are all the steps from start to finish...The entire project cost us less than $300:
It's fairly quick, and one of the most economical ways to make raised vegetable beds.
Treated with organic linseed paint & stain these 2 x 10 spruce boards should last many many years.
For just over $200 we will have almost 200 square feet of organized growing space.
In this project Zuki uses lumber from Home Depot, his Dewalt tools and Ridgid Miter Saw Stand.
Here we go...Tearing up our lawn for the planters...
Now to build and install the arbor, trellis, pretty up the landscape and stain the boxes...Oh yea! And fill with food of course :D
We now have the landscape fabric & stone down, and things tidied up a little...
We are ready to install the arbour & trellising.
This week, Zuki shows you how he builds the arbor and I show you how he installs it...
Next week we will be building and installing the trellis, then adding some trims then on to painting and planting.
