Alteya Organics From Bulgaria | Certified Organic Skincare

I've always wanted to visit Bulgaria,
several friends of mine from this beautiful country have shown me the photographs
of their beautiful beaches, sunny clear skies, quaint towns and stunning architecture.

More recently, what has attracted me to Bulgaria is their growing support of organic agriculture.  Organic crops in Bulgaria have increased 10-fold since 2008.

Aside from food, companies in Bulgaria are also producing more organic personal care and cosmetics which are USDA certified organic.

One such company is Alteya Organics.

Alteya Organics Products are based on the worlds finest certified organic Bulgarian roses and lavender.

Alteya started as a small family company which began growing their own Roses in the Rose Valley in Bulgaria. They have been adding and planting new fields of roses every year to meet the demands of the growing numbers of new and returning customers.

They currently provide work to more than 400 employees during the peak of the Harvest seasons. Since its founding, Alteya has been working hard to provide fair employment and support to the local population in some of the poorest villages in the Rose Valley and the Balkan Mountain regions in Bulgaria. By purchasing their products, you give a chance for economic survival to more than 200 families who otherwise would have to struggle to provide for their families.

They gave me the opportunity to try some of their beautiful products.

I tried their Bulgarian Rose Water, Rose facial Toner & the Youth Restoring Day Moisturizer

I'll start with my favorite product:
$15.95 for 250ml spray

It has only 1 ingredient: Certified organic Rosa damascena water

The mister provides a very nice light spray, much nicer than cheaper misters that squirt water droplets all over your face.

It smells soft and lovely like a field of wild roses and is very refreshing and hydrating - A summer must have!
After only using it a few days, the redness in my cheeks was much less noticeable and my skin felt cool and refreshed all day.

Next I tried the Toner & Day Moisturiser:

$21.95 200ml spray

100% natural & 99.5% organic
While this is still a very nice product, I would much prefer just using their 100% organic rose water.  I didn't see any need or any benefit for the added organic glycerin, organic and organic citrus extract.

Lastly, I tried their
is 100% Natural and 99.5% Certified Organic
50ml Glass pump $23.00

Loaded with quality organic oils a little goes a long way with this rich creamy moisturizer.  One full pump extracts a bit too much moisturizer so be careful - you only need a half pump to do your entire face, neck and hands.  One full pump:

A beautiful country, wonderful family-own company and a very nice line of Certified organic products, including skincare, hair care floral waters & baby products

  1. I think the citrus extract in the toner is to give the right acidity, after all it's a toner and glycerine probably to make it more moisturising. I guess it's for people who like that feeling of a classic toner and pure rose water would be too 'dry' for them.

Personally, I prefer pure flower waters, like you, but a lot of people are so used to classic toners, or maybe they have different skin, anyway they prefer that toner feel.
