DIY Raised Vegetable Beds | Urban Vegetable Garden

This is one of the quickest, most economical ways
to make raised vegetable beds.

Treated with organic linseed paint & stain these 2 x 10 spruce boards should last many many years.
For just over $200 we will have almost 200 square feet of organized growing space.
In this project Zuki uses lumber from Home Depot, his Dewalt tools and Ridgid Miter Saw Stand.

  1. Great video! Just wondering how much does the linseed oil cost, and how many coats do you need to apply so it is treated properly?

  3. Thanks Amanda! Cretos - There are loads of linseed oils on the market but most of them are laden with chemical dryers and are chemically "Boiled". The Allback that we are using is synthetic-free and "boiled" with oxygen. It is very concentrated. Ideally I would do 2 coats but we decided to go with 1 coat so we can stretch it because it is quite expensive and we actually purchased it for our decks. It runs about $18/L or $85/5L plus shipping from Toronto. http://www.solventfreepaint.ca/cleaned_linseed_oil.htm
