Their wide variety of yummy foods include Acai powder, Cacao, Cashews, Camu powder, Chia, Chocolate, Coconut oil, Goji berries, Golden berries, Flax, Hemp, Lucuma, Maca, Maqui, Mesquite, Mulberries, Nori, Palm sugar, Pomegranate powder, Stevia, Wheatgrass and a variety of snacks & trail mixes.
I wanted to try mulberries and the goldenberries, so they sent some along for me to sample.
Their whole sun-dried, sweet mulberries are raw, kosher, gluten-free, vegan, and 100% organic.
They have a mellow sweet flavor with a hint of nutty caramel. They are a crunchy-sticky. With a dash of Celtic or Himalayan salt these work as a good and healthy alternative to caramel corn.
They have 3 varieties of trail mix. The 3 Berries Cacao Nibs Cashews trail mix has a colorful and unique blend of high-energy cacao, healthy really-raw cashews, antioxidant-rich goji berries, sweet mulberries, and vitamin-packed goldenberries.
They also sent along their Cacao Lip Balm for me to try. This completely organic lip balm contains organic raw cacao butter made from 100% pure cacao oil and 100% of the ingredients are certified organic, cruelty-free, and contain no chemical preservatives.
This moisturizing balm retails for only $3.99, is smooth creamy and tastes like real cocoa.
Lastly, I was sent the Goldenberries to try. These are the dried fruits of the pretty perennial Chinese lantern (Cape goseberry).
They look so wonderful, bright and colorful...But I have to say, I really didn't like these...So I gave most of them to my mother...she liked them. If you like tart berries, you will love them but I found they lacked any real sweetness or flavor. Since I have never eaten a goldenberry before I am sure that it has nothing to do with the brand, just my preference on berry flavors.
However, I don't believe in wasting great organic food so I was determined to find a way to like these little orange berries and they worked out perfectly in my wheat-free, sugar-free carrot cake.
Here is the recipe:
- 1/4 cup organic goldenberries + 1/4 cup organic raisins, soaked in 1/4 cup of water overnight.
In a mixing bowl:
Beat 2 organic eggs + 1 tbs organic sunflower oil and 3 tbs of organic raw honey until smooth
Then add 4 large finely grated organic carrots and 1/4 cup organic apple sauce (if you don't have apple sauce you can mulch one apple with two tablespoons of water in a blender)
Stir in 1 1/2 cups of organic oat flour (Just put the oats in a blender on grind or in a coffee grinder and grind into a flour) mixed with 3 tbs baking powder
Add the soaked berries & raisins from above, 1/2 cup organic sunflower seeds or nuts and a pinch of organic cinnamon
Grease a shallow loaf pan and spread in the thick batter
Pour 1 tbs organic apple cider vinegar over the top of the batter then fork it through gently (This activates the baking powder)
Bake in a preheated oven on 350 for 45 minutes or until inserting a knife in the center come out clean
For the optional cream cheese icing: Mix in a small container with a fork a 50/50 blend of organic cream cheese and raw organic creamed honey (the thick white one) and a dash of organic vanilla.
